The Honorable Kimberly Esmond Adams

The Honorable Judge Kimberly Esmond Adams began her term on the Fulton County Superior Court in January, 2009.  The Fulton Superior Court is the largest trial court in the State of Georgia.  Prior to her election, Judge Adams served the citizens of Fulton County as a Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the Fulton County District Attorney for nearly six years where she prosecuted major felony cases, including homicides and crimes against women and children.  She began her public service career in 2002 after more than three years of practice as an employment attorney with a national labor and employment boutique.

The Honorable Mark Anthony Scott, DeKalb Superior Court

Judge Mark Anthony Scott was elected as a Superior Court Judge in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit (DeKalb County) in August, 2004. Judge Scott graduated from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. in 1984. Prior to being elected as a Superior Court Judge, Judge Scott’s primary legal concentration focused on criminal defense.  Judge Scott is a Board Member of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council. Judge Scott also is a past President and Board Member of the DeKalb Bar Association.  In his spare time, Judge Scott enjoys reading novels.  He likes a variety of music and particularly enjoys the blues.  His favorite blues artist is Bobby Blue Bland.

The Honorable Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears

THE FIRST African-American woman to serve as a Superior Court Judge in Georgia; the first woman to serve on the Georgia Supreme Court; the first African-American woman Chief Justice; the first woman to win a contested state-wide election in Georgia (she went on to win three state-wide elections); the youngest person to serve on the Georgia Supreme Court. She was founder of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and founder of the Battered Women's Project in Columbus, Georgia. Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears has a distinguished career of firsts and honors.
